One more reason to register that iPod...

KESQ, channel 3 in San Francisco is reporting that a hit-and-run victim's iPod was used to identify her. Apparently she was carrying a registered iPod--but no other ID--when she was hit by a car and thrown off the road in the Presidio. A park ranger discovered her. Apple, through a retail Apple store, was able to identify the owner of the iPod.

And you thought iPods were just good for listening to music!

iPod Hi-Pri'

Consistent with ThinkSecret's prediction, Apple this morning released the iPod Hi-Fi.

It's a box with speakers in it, and it costs $349.

OK, in fairness, it does come with a $29.00 Apple Remote. Even so, this thing costs a bloody fortune! Even if it sounds awesome (which I'll assume), I'd expect something more for that price. There are people who would pay $349 for such a thing, but they are audiophiles who probably already have their iPods connected to a superior system.

Add AM, FM, and satellite radio, with the ability to record to the iPod, and then let's talk.
