CNN reports that the first network to offer TV programs for sale through the iTunes Music Store, ABC, will soon offer their programs for free.

Starting next month, popular programs such as "Desparate Housewives" and "Lost", which currently have commercial-free versions available through the iTunes Music Store for $1.99 per episode, will be available through ABC's website for free the day after the episode airs. The programs will have commercials.

So, it looks like the iTMS price will get you not the program, but the absence of commercials, and the convenience of shopping in one place.

I predict the price of episodes will fall to $1.49.
